Concerts

On April 24/25 I had 2 concerts. The first was at the 9:30 Club in DC. It was this year's Alternative Press Tour headlined by 3OH!3 (like an area code), with supporting acts Family Force 5, The Maine, Hit The Lights, and A Rocket To The Moon. I was most interested in Hit The Lights and 3OH!3. I missed Hit The Lights since traffic took forever to go get Maria since she decided to join me and I didn't plan for beltway traffic in my initial plans. 3OH!3 was amazing and The Maine gained a fan. Family Force 5 also did, but to a lesser extent.

Then I crashed with Kyle and Maria and then Maria joined up for the next concert as well. That was Fall Out Boy, 50 Cent, All Time Low, Cobra Starship, and Hey Monday. That was a pretty good show, but Merriwhether pulled some serious bullshit. They sold every single ticket as general admission for like $35 (plus those damned fees), and somehow I didn't put together that that was a little low for a floor ticket for Fall Out Boy these days, but they always call the pit General Admission, so when we got there like an hour after the doors opened (show wasn't for another 30 minutes still), they had already given wristbands out to let the first thousand folks on the floor and the next 4k in the seats on some sort of first come first served basis. This seating scheme I feel was not made clear to purchasers and based on the number on my tickets I may have lucked into having the 28th and 29th tickets sold. I was pissed that I got to pay $35 a piece for lawn tickets. Oh thanks Merriwhether, I'm glad that everyone that didn't know what was going on could have the privilege of overpriced lawn seats to subsidize the cost of the more expensive seats. So here's a big "fuck you" to Merriwhether. I meant to call them and let them know that I thought that was pretty disgusting, now it might seem silly to call this long after.
